LORD KRISHNA AND LORD SHIVA – An Eternal Bond of Devotion

Lord Shiva, known as Vaishnavanam Yatha Shambhuh—the greatest devotee of Lord Vishnu—deeply worships Lord Krishna. At the same time, Krishna Himself holds Lord Shiva in the highest regard as the most merciful and benevolent deity. Their divine relationship is one of profound mutual respect and love, reminding us that true spirituality transcends divisions and unites all devotees in the service of the Supreme.

Just as Lord Shiva is known for his unmatched compassion and renunciation, Lord Krishna emphasizes the highest form of charity—feeding the hungry and serving those in need. Inspired by Srila Prabhupada’s profound words— “No one within ten miles of an ISKCON temple should go hungry.”

We have embraced this mission through Annadaan – Food for Life, a sacred initiative that ensures no devotee, visitor, or underprivileged person in Omkareshwar goes without food. Every day, our volunteers prepare and distribute pure, nutritious, and sanctified vegetarian meals (prasadam), nourishing both the body and soul. By serving others selflessly, we follow in the footsteps of both Lord Krishna and Lord Shiva, who embody love, compassion, and devotion.
